Marking One Year of this Pandemic

This week marks one year since our office closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic. And what a year it’s been! Even though our office is closed to in person visits, we have been here every day working hard to serve you.

Early on in the pandemic, real estate transactions were shut down for a short time, but that didn’t slow down real estate business throughout the rest of the year. With interest rates at historical lows, we were busy recording new mortgages, and associated deeds and satisfactions.

This pandemic has made everyone assess what is important: family. Low interest rates have allowed families to reinvest and make changes to their homes to enjoy family time more.

With rates this low, it has also been a good time for homeowners and businesses to invest in their properties, and we’ve seen it with more loans and subdivision plans being recorded. Low rates have also allowed business to reinvest here in Montgomery County. We’re seeing proof in the business refinance documents and development plans coming in at a fast clip.

All year, my staff has been working tirelessly answering your phone calls, recording documents, and swearing in notaries. As we head into the second year of doing business in new ways, we continue to be busy, and continue to learn new ways to make business happen. Our dedication to you does not waiver.

Don’t forget we have a drop box available in the lobby of One Montgomery Plaza for getting your documents to us. Or you can send documents for recording via eRecording, USPS, Fedex or UPS. Please always feel free to contact us.

Stay safe and healthy. As vaccinations continue across the county, we look forward to serving you in person.
