New StoryWalk Story!- The Norristown Farm Park has a new story along the Montco StoryWalk! “I Love Winter” by Shelley Admont is a fun tale about a bunny discovering the thrills and chills of a snowy day. The story is bilingual with English and Spanish text and it will be up until March. Bundle up and take a stroll along the Montco StroyWalk® at the Norristown Farm Park today.

Trout in the Classroom
Have you ever wanted to learn about the life cycle of a Rainbow Trout? Join us to observe the life cycle and learn about water quality and more! This program will happen twice a month starting December through May of 2023. This month’s dates are January 19th and January 28th. Once the trout are old enough, we will release them into Kepner Creek! This program will be held in our indoor space. Norristown Farm Park’s participation in the Trout in the Classroom program was made possible through a partnership between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) and the Pennsylvania Council of Trout Unlimited (PATU).

Full Moon Hike & Campfire
Come experience a hike under the full moon. This nearly two mile hike will be led by park ranger Dave. See some nocturnal animals and experience the starry sky. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking. Then visit the Stony Creek Anglers to enjoy a campfire. Bring your own smores' supplies!. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking.

Nature Explorers: Nature Valentines
Many animals mate for life, while some change mates every year. But, they all must attract their mate. Come learn about mating rituals and create a valentine surprise for your loved one. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking.
Age 3-6 with adult; $3 craft fee

Seasonal Nature Journaling - Winter 
Looking for a way to relax and connect with nature? Take some time to discover nature journaling. Learn the best way to start your own journal as you develop your observation skills. Each season we will explore the park and write or draw our experiences. At the end over the year look back to see how the park changes! Wear sturdy shoes for hiking.

Morning Bird Walk
Join park staff for a morning bird walk. Come observe some amazing birds that are only stopping by. Bring binoculars if you have them. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking.

Homeschool- Wilderness Survival
Come learn some tactics that can be used to survive in the wilderness. Discover how to build a fire and create a shelter. We will also use some of our tracking skills learned from the last program. Limited space available, two dates and time slots available - please only register for one date/time slot. This provides space for other families. Please dress for the weather as we will be outdoors. Also if you would like to bring smores supplies, you will have the opportunities to cook them at the end of the program! 
Children ages 7-16 with adult; Free
We will have a separate date for under 7 in March!

Growing Up WILD Educator Workshop 

Location: NFP  

 Growing Up WILD: Exploring Nature with Young Children is an early childhood education activity guide (ages 3-7) that builds on children’s sense of wonder about nature🐻 and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Through a wide range of activities and experiences, it provides a foundation for developing positive impressions about nature while also building lifelong social and cognitive skills. In this hands-on workshop, including outdoor activities, participants will be introduced to the curriculum, guided in its use, and shown the resources available through Growing Up WILD, Project WILD, Bureau of State Parks and Montgomery County to help them implement it with their students. You will receive the award-winning Growing up WILD book at the end of the workshop.
