Montco StoryWalk at the Norristown Farm Park - A Power Up Story Adventure
The Montco StoryWalk was recently updated to feature “A Power Up Story Adventure” by Shanita Fields and Kristen Barrett. This story features Spanish translation and takes the reader on an adventure flying with a bird, swimming through a lake, and swinging through the trees with a monkey. As a bonus you can look for a #MontcoTrailChallenge symbol while you’re there!

Nature Explore - Rocks
Come explore the difference between rocks and gems. Get to touch different rocks and gems, and create your own painted rock to take home. Please include which time frame you are interested in attending.
3-6 with adult; $3 craft fee

Eastern Coyote
Discover our local apex predator, The Eastern Coyote. Coyotes are adaptable to many habitats, urban and rural. Learn about the nature and history of the elusive coyote. This will be an indoor program.

Join park staff for a morning bird walk. Come observe some amazing birds that are only stopping by. Bring binoculars if you have them. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking.

Skulls, Skins, and Skeletons
It’s that time of year where everything is getting spooky. Discover skulls, skins, and skeletons of different types of animals. Touch and get up close with nature artifacts. All ages; Free

Wednesday, October 12  FULL
Homeschool – Orienteering 
Orienteering is a outdoor navigation sport, where you use a compass and map to locate check points. Join Delaware Valley Orienteering Association to learn what orienteering is and how to do it. Once you learn the basics take a chance and try a course that is set through the park. Both sessions are FULL!  You may be added to a waitlist to be notified of openings.

Fall Decorations
Join us to create a fall pumpkin decoration! Choose a small pumpkin and add paint, stickers, fall flowers or leaves. Also create pipe cleaner and bead ears of corn! This is an indoor program.
All Ages; $5 craft fee

Nature Explore - Owls
Come learn about Hoo lives in our forests at night. Discover how many species of owls live in PA. Also get to see some neat animal artifacts. You will also hear a story and create a craft to take home.

Trick or Trails
Please join the Montgomery County Office of Public Health’s annual Trick or Trails! Trick or Trails serves as a fun, healthy way to connect families with nature and have a not-so scary Halloween experience. Trick or Treat stations will be set up along a paved trail where participants can do an activity, pick up a prize, and learn something about healthy eating, nature, Halloween safety, or parks and trails. Costumes are welcome. Trick or Trails is open to the public although registration is preferred. Interested parties can email and report how many children and adults will be attending.

The Farm Park’s Most Wanted
What connection does Norristown have to America’s first serial killer? Which Norristown State Hospital patient was the subject of an Oscar-nominated film? Before its grounds were converted into the Norristown Farm Park, the Norristown State Hospital had a long history of playing host to some of Pennsylvania’s most notorious individuals. Join us around the campfire for a night of true crime stories you’ll never forget.

It is almost Halloween. Come get spooked by nature. Take a hike and learn about some creepy sounding animals. Also experience some chilling stories about the farm park. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking.
