The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and Pennsylvania Department of Health (PADOH) plan is to align practices and policies for safely operating schools with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH) in collaboration with Montgomery County Superintendents have developed recommendations for the Montgomery County School community to prevent disease transmission in the school environment.

Recommendation for COVID-19 Prevention for K to 12 Schools: 2021-2022 School Year

For data on school district level of community transmission please visit the Montgomery County COVID-19 Data HUB. School district level of community transmission will be updated on the COVID-19 HUB on Wednesday.

COVID-19 School Exclusion Guide (Updated 7/26/2021): This provides schools with exclusion and return to school guidelines developed by the Montgomery County Office of Public Health. 

COVID-19 Reporting to the Montgomery County office of Public Health

For the 2021-2022 school year the Montgomery County Office of Public Health will be implementing electronic reporting of COVID-19 cases associated with K-12 schools. Updates on electronic case reporting will be provided closer to the start of the 2021-2022 school year. 

At-Home Covid Testing

Montgomery County Office of Public Health only recognizes Covid-19 test results completed under the supervision of a health care provider for release of quarantine. Negative results from over-the-counter at-home Covid-19 tests will not be accepted in order to be released from quarantine and return to school.
