CLOSURES ALERT HURRICANE IDA 9-17-2021
Due to storm damage, many County Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites situated along waterways are closed. The Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) Towpath, the SRT from the Oaks Bridge to the Port Providence trailhead and the Schuylkill east trail accessible from Lock 60 and Upper Schuylkill Valley Park are closed indefinitely. The Perkiomen Trail from Lower Perkiomen Valley Park to Cider Mill Road is also closed. Lastly, the north-side (Old Mill House side) of Central Perkiomen Valley Park is closed indefinitely.
We discourage any use of a closed trail or site as cleanup efforts continue. This is for the safety of all users.
There is an historic site within minutes of your home, each representing a unique aspect of Montgomery County history. We invite you to walk the grounds, enjoy the period gardens, or appreciate the landscape as you experience a step back to another time period. Different time periods and themes are presented at the historic sites through a wide variety of exhibits, special events, and programs. These may be found on the web pages for each site.
Free guided tours are available at each site year-round. Plan your trip so that you allow at least 45 minutes for this personalized view into the past.
